Take a walk through Westwego's Historic District and you will find many treasures! Sala Avenue is four blocks long and includes a museum, a theater, an art gallery and a Farmers Market for your pleasure.


Theater of Performing Arts

The 250 seat theater which includes an orchestra pit is managed by Dennis Asaf and the Jefferson Performing Arts Society. At the front of the theater is Teatro Wego. Westwego Historical Museum

The Westwego Historical Museum is located in the century-old Fisherman's Exchange Building (Durac Terrebonne/L.J. Bernard Hardware Store) and features an old time hardware store (early 1900s), completely furnished upstairs living quarters with antique furniture. We also have an outhouse and wooden cistern.Hours: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Mondays - Saturdays, except Wednesday
